Planning & design

What happens during a free office planning and design consultation?

Prepare for a free office planning conversation with Pam: your brief, dimensions, budget, furniture priorities and installation needs.

You do not need a finished brief

You might have a detailed floor plan, or simply know that your current office is not working well. Both are useful starting points. The first conversation is about what you want the space to do and what is getting in the way today.

Perhaps desks feel crowded, storage has taken over, or your team needs somewhere to meet without disturbing colleagues. Describe the working day rather than trying to choose every item of furniture in advance.

Bring a few practical details

  • Room dimensions or an existing plan, if you have one.
  • Photos showing the room and its access points.
  • How many people use the space, including busy days.
  • Furniture you would like to retain.
  • Budget expectations and any fixed dates.
  • Individual workstation needs you want to discuss privately.

Mark windows, doors, columns and fixed services. If you only have a rough sketch, say which measurements still need confirming.

Explore options before committing

The conversation can cover desk arrangements, seating, storage, meeting spaces and finishes. Think about which activities need separation and which can share a space. Agree the scope of the free planning and design work with Pam so you know what the next step will involve.

Separate the plan from the quote

P&S Interiors offers free planning and design. Furniture, installation, project management and any DSE assessment requirements should be discussed and quoted as appropriate. Confirm what a proposal includes, how changes will be handled and which decisions need making before an order.

Plan the route to installation

A layout becomes more useful when access, timings and responsibilities have also been considered. Pam can discuss personal project management alongside the furniture plan. For a small office that may be straightforward; a phased workplace change or European installation needs more coordination.

Start by emailing Pam a short description of the space and what you would like to improve.
